On Friday, October 20, 2017, Douglas W. Spector, 57, slipped the bounds of earth to a more peaceful place. He was the husband of Ashley A. (Lloyd) Spector for 12 years. Doug was born on August 27, 1960 in Norwalk, CA to Herbert and Betty (Tinsman) Spector. Doug attended the University of Hawaii where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Justice Administration. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for ten years. He was a former minor league pitcher for the Eugene Emeralds, a Class A affiliate of the Cincinatti Reds. Currently, he was the Director of Security for Securitas, USA and had worked there for 8 years. Doug loved all sports, especially the Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid surfer while living in Honolulu. He was an animal advocate and leaves behind his two dear dogs, Liberty and Penelope. Doug is now at peace with his fur-buddy, Maverick. He is survived by his wife, Ashley; parents; step-children, Ethan and Hannah Roth; children, Alexi and Courtney Spector; and three sisters, Kathy Sobon, Dee and Randi Spector. A public visitation will be from 5 p.m. until a memorial service begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom.
