Dr. Arthur L. Copp

On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Dr. Arthur L. Copp, 78, passed away surrounded by his family.  He was the loving husband of the late Diana L. (Bowers) Copp, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Arthur was born May 4, 1944 in Hanover, PA to the late Kathryn Leona (Shearer) and Elwood L. Copp.  He was a 1962 graduate of Spring Grove High School and a 1968 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic.  He was a Chiropractor in New Freedom, PA for most of his 46 years in practice and retired in 2014 due to Parkinson’s disease.

When Arthur wasn’t taking care of patients, he was watching grandchildren, volunteering for SYC Youth Club, working on his 1890 Victorian house, or watching one of his favorite sports teams; Penn State football, Maryland Terrapins basketball, or the Baltimore Orioles.

Arthur was a member of the Shrewsbury Assembly of God where he sang in the choir, played in the bell choir, and played and coached softball.

He is survived by his seven children: Cheryl Archer and husband, John, Brian Copp and wife, Melissa, Christian Copp and wife, Erin, Doug Copp and wife, Heather, Darin Copp and wife, Deanna, Dustin Copp and wife, Flora and Ashleigh Ruppel and husband, John; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Elwood M. Copp (Penny), Rebecca Strayer (Charlie), Joan Copp (Jolene), Jeffry Copp (Magdalene) and Bonnie Routson.

A public viewing will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a celebration of life service following at Grace Fellowship Church 74 East Forrest Ave Shrewsbury, PA 17361 with Pastor Mark Fair presiding.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
