Earl Raymond Miller Jr.

Earl Raymond Miller Jr., 90, of Railroad, PA passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was the loving husband of Doris Ann (Thomas) Miller with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Born April 28, 1933, in New Freedom, he was the son of the late Earl Raymond Miller Sr. and Mildred (Wilhelm) Miller. Earl had been employed as a machinist for many years and retired from York International. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955.

Earl was a devoted husband and father, who enjoyed crabbing, the outdoors, and going on family vacations to Ocean City. Earl was easy going, honest, and always ready with a joke. In recent years, one of Earl's fondest pastimes was simply sitting on the porch swing with his wife and enjoying the scenery.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons: Douglas Allen and wife Morgan of Gettysburg, and Jeffrey Scott and wife Christina of Greenville, SC and four grandchildren Ethan, Trey, Berit, and Lyvia.

There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Thursday, June 8, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349 followed by a Funeral Liturgy at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Historic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom,  at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
