Edna Mae (James) Davis, 87, passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran Utz Terrace in Hanover on November 2, 2019. She was the loving wife of the late George Davis, II. Edna was born in Baltimore to Clyde and Marie (Lachnit) James. She lived on the family farm in Freeland, MD for 50 years. Edna worked for Lever Brothers in Baltimore and for the Baltimore County Public Schools for 29 years. She was a member at St. John Lutheran Church in New Freedom were she was very active. Edna participated in the prayer ministry, the choir, and the quilting ministry amongst her other volunteer opportunities at the church. Edna also volunteered at the Shrewsbury Lutheran Home and enjoyed gardening. Edna is survived by her 3 Children: Ronald Davis, Sr., Paul Davis, Sr. and his wife Diane, and George Davis, III and his wife Gloria; Grandchildren Becky Davis, Benjamin Davis, Bradford Davis, Stephen Davis, Paul Davis, Jr., Timothy Davis, Melissa Ferguson, Sarah Davis, Michael Davis, and Megan Davis; Great-Grandchildren Silas Davis, Miriam Davis, Ruth Davis, Joel Davis, Titus Davis, Aletheia Davis, Evangeline Davis, Levi Davis, Daniel Davis, Ethan Davis, and Matthew Davis. Edna also leaves behind 4 nieces and 4 nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, late husband George, a grandson Ronald Davis, Jr., and a sister Rose Kime. Viewings will be held at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 from 3-5PM and again from 7-9PM on Tuesday November 5. A funeral service will start at 10AM on Wednesday November 6 at St. John Lutheran Church 175 East Main Street, New Freedom, PA 17349 with Rev. George Schneider officiating.
