Edward Franklin (Ed) Dixon died peacefully at York Hospital on January 18th in York, Pennsylvania at the age of 91. Edward was born on March 9, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland and is the husband of the late Mary Ellen (Brawley) Dixon to whom he was married for 49 years.
Edward was the son of the late Marie and Joseph M. Dixon of Baltimore with brother, the late William J. Dixon of Westminster, Maryland. Edward is survived by sons Charles J. Dixon and wife Patricia of Largo, Florida; Scott E. Dixon and wife Dina of Bel Air, Maryland; Colin R. Dixon and partner Mary of Essex, Maryland; and Douglas A. Dixon and wife, Jean of Maryland Line, Maryland; grandchildren Rebecca Morales of Stevensville, Maryland and husband Jonathan; Benjamin Dixon of Great Lakes, Michigan; Adam and Daniel Dixon of Bel Air, Maryland; Brittany Walton and husband Noah Walton of Middle River, Maryland; Shawn Dixon of Baltimore, Maryland and Katelyn and Karleigh Dixon of Maryland Line, Maryland; and great grandchildren, Olive Dixon, Franklin Dixon, Payton Francischetti, and Aslan Walton.
Edward was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and served in the Army in the Korean War. He worked for 47 years for the consulting engineering firm of Whitman, Requardt, and Associates in Baltimore. He was a longtime member of the VFW and served as the Quartermaster for Post 7012 in New Freedom, Pennsylvania. He was an active member of the South Central York County Senior Center where he enjoyed line dancing and watercolor painting.
