On Sunday, January 20, 2019, Edward Molinsky passed away at home.He was the husband of Rae E. (Kaufman) Molinsky.He was born on November 24, 1944 in Springfield, MA to the late Joseph and Ida (Rosenberg) Molinsky.Ed proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1971.He was a member and past president of New Freedom Lions Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.He was a member of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403, BPOE #1592 Elks Club in Red Lion, volunteered with HOPE, and was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association.Ed served on the New Freedom Boro Council for 12 years and was past chairman of the Zoning Hearing Board for 8 years.He was the first Chairman of Southern Police Commission, serving for 8 years.Ed served as an official for the PIAA U.S. Soccer Federation, was a member of Parents Committee Troop #24 Boy Scouts and he had also served as a reserve Police Officer in California. He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Jason and wife Sara of Woodbine, MD, Jeffrey and wife Marjorie of Bristol, CT, and Joel and wife Susan of Burlington, CT; 6 grandchildren, Jordan, Caleb, Noah, Lily, Raegan and Ryland; one brother, Bert and wife Donna of Glendale, AZ; one sister, Maxine of Henderson, NV.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Murray. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 23 from 7pm to 9pm at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 10am.Interment to follow in New Freedom Cemetery.Cantor Michael Markowitz will officiate.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 2951 Whiteford Rd., Ste. 304, York, PA 17402.
