Eleanor J. "Ellie" Allison, 92, died Friday, October 28, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services-South, York. Eleanor was the wife of the late Preston L. "Pret" Allison. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 3 at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with Chaplain Wesley Mast officiating. Burial is in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Viewings will be on Wednesday, November 2, from 7 to 9 p.m and again on Thursday, November 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the mortuary. Eleanor was born, February 19, 1924, in Delta, a daughter of the late Ross C. and Irene (Enfield) Montgomery and the late Clyde R. and Pauline L. (King) Attig. She was a 1944 graduate of the former New Freedom High School. Eleanor was employed for a number of years at Saubel's Markets of Shrewsbury, the former American Insulator Corp. of New Freedom and AMP, Inc. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Shrewsbury, a former member of the Triangle Chapter #483 Order of the Eastern Star, Shrewsbury, and the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Eleanor enjoyed playing golf at both Bon Air Country Club and Pleasant Valley Golf Course, as well as snowmobiling during the winter months. Eleanor leaves a son, Randy L. Allison, and his wife Rosemarie of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Carla S. Chilcoat, and her husband Kenneth of Seven Valleys; four grandchildren, Brian Allison, and his wife Katie, Craig Allison, and his wife Amanda, Matthew Chilcoat, and his wife Lisa and Jennifer Buffington, and her husband Aaron; five great-grandchildren, Paige Allison, Riley Allison, Lauren Chilcoat, William Buffington, and Jameson Buffington; and a sister, Evelyn Harbold, and her husband Melvin of Shiloh.
