Eleanor E. Low, 73, of New Freedom passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Roy O. Low to whom she was married 25 years. Born in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Harold J. Cusick, Jr. and Emma E. (Thomas) Cusick. Eleanor started working with Penn-Mar in Freeland, MD in the early 2000’s working as a client caretaker, moving to house manager/supervisor before retiring in the summer of 2018. However, she continued to fill in when needed. She loved spending time with her family, watching animals and birds, gardening, going to carnivals to play BINGO, going to casinos, eating sweets, staying up late watching movies and favorite shows and talking, laughing and enjoying everyone’s company. Eleanor also had a love for antiques and yard sales. She never went anywhere without making a new friend. As a child, she participated in 4H and helped her parents with the foster children they had. She attended Parke Memorial United Methodist Church in Parkton, MD during the 80’s and 90’s and most recently was a member of the Shrewsbury Assembly of God. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter Helen Michelle Brengle and her husband John; step-son James Low and fiancée Jamie Heinze; grandchildren Hillary, wife of Zack Sload and Jessica Brengle and fiancé Brandon Speights; Tyler Low, Kaitlyn Low and Lincoln Low; one great-grandchild Beau Sload. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of her service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Rd, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112 in her memory.
