Erna L. Wood

Erna L. Wood, 83, of White Hall, MD passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of the late Dale A. Wood, Sr. who passed away March 9, 2015. Born in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Goldie Bull. Erna was a secretary for Westinghouse for 26 years prior to her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed camping, playing BINGO and watching the Orioles and Ravens. Erna was a member of Wiseburg United Methodist Church, Parkton Ladies Auxiliary where she founded BINGO there at the Legion. Erna is survived by four sons Dale A. Wood, Jr. husband of Kim of Shrewsbury, PA, David W. Wood of Parkton, MD, Daniel L. Wood husband of Robin of Fishing Creek, MD and Dean C. Wood husband of Marcie of White Hall, MD; four grandchildren Melanie Heuer, Danielle Sells, Charles Wood and Daniel L. Wood, Jr.; six great-grandchildren Lane, Garrett, Skyla, Nora, Luke and Olive. She was preceded in death by two sisters Janet Winters and Gloria Winger and one brother Sam Bull. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 12:00PM from Wiseburg United Methodist Church, 810 Wiseburg Rd, White Hall, MD 21161 with Pastor Ronald C. Gompf officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of her funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wiseburg UMC at the above listed address or to Mt. Carmel UMC, 2533 Mt. Carmel Rd. Parkton, MD 21110 in her memory.
