Esther J. "Sandy" Lake

Esther J. “Sandy” Lake, 77, of Shrewsbury, PA passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in York. She was the wife of Ronald B. Lake to whom she was married 60 years. Born in Columbia, PA she was the daughter of Kathryn E. (Yeager) Barefoot of York and the late George W. Barefoot. Sandy was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Codorus and was the President and CEO of Lake Janitorial Services a York based building maintenance company for 43 years. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by five children Kim, wife of Ronald Schissler of Red Lion, Renee, wife of David Humphrey of Pekin, IN, Wayne Lake of New Salem, Karen, wife of Glenn Dallmeyer of Shrewsbury and Monica, wife of Shane Rodgers of Georgetown, IN; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one brother Eric Barefoot husband of Mary. Funeral services for Sandy will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA Interment will be held in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, PA. A viewing will be held from 11AM until the time of her service at the funeral home.
