Eva L. "Lou" Staines (Wilhelm)

On Sunday, September 17, 2017, Eva L. "Lou" (Wilhelm) Staines, 85, passed away peacefully at home. She was the loving wife of the late L. Ed Staines. Lou was born on August 27, 1932 in Butler, MD to the late George and Edna (Boblitz) Wilhelm. She was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan, enjoyed bird watching, playing cards, attending church functions and spending time with her family. She was a member of Stabler's United Methodist Church in Parkton, MD since 1970. Lou is survived by her children, Lawrence E. Staines II, Linda Gladfelter and husband, Claude, and Joseph A. Staines and wife, Patricia; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Kimberly Staines; one great-grandchild, Piper Staines; two siblings, Virginia Foster and husband, Bernie, and Howard Wilhelm and wife, Michelle. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, George and Robert Wilhelm and Rae Baublitz. Public viewings will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, September 25 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, where a funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26. Interment will follow in Stabler's Cemetery, Parkton, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to Stabler's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 403, Parkton, MD 21120.
