Evelyn Louise Hatle

Evelyn Louise Hatle, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 18, 2021. She was the wife of the late Charles L. Hatle. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Evelyn (Rogers) Bell. Evelyn was the middle of three children, preceded in death by older brother Maurice H. Bell, Jr. along with surviving wife Pat Bell. She was “Sistie” to younger brother Haskins “Butch” Bell and his wife, Bonnie. She was a loving mother to daughter Jeanne A. Hayter of Felton, Pa. and son Charles H. Hatle and his wife Michele of Red Lion, Pa. Evelyn dearly loved her grandchildren, Matt and Megan Hayter and Lindsay and Leah Hatle. Evelyn was lovingly known as “Nana” by her grandchildren and will be dearly remembered and missed by all who knew her. Evelyn graduated from Shepherd University as a teacher and taught children in Ressie Jeffries Elementary School, Front Royal, Va. She was also an avid homemaker and right hand woman to her husband Charles in his endeavors to fly, repair and inspect small airplanes. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 23, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. Interment is private and will be at the convenience of her family in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
