Evelyn R. Vaught (Mellinger)

Evelyn R. (Mellinger) Vaught, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late Iredell M. Vaught. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. A memorial service will begin at 11 am on Tuesday with Rev. Kathleen Kuehl officiating. Burial will follow at Stewartstown Cemetery, Stewartstown. Born January 14, 1930 in Felton, York County, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Alvin G. and Lydia M. (Dise) Mellinger. She enjoyed reading, gardening and flowers. Evelyn was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Kathy R. Allen and her husband, John of Stewartstown, and Gail K. Hake and her husband, Randall of Red Lion; a granddaughter, Nicole Lowe; grandsons, Scott, Eric and Wayne Hake; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Seibert and Haven; brothers, Clair Mellinger of Felton, Alvin Mellinger, Jr. of Felton, and Donald Mellinger of Felton; and a sister, Elsie Grimm of Dallastown.
