Frances R. Schaeffer

Frances R. Schaeffer, 83 died on Wed., August 29, 2018. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Schaeffer with whom she was married to for 41 years. Born July 1, 1935 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose J. and Emma M. (Cramer) Keller. She worked at the Post Office for 29 ½years; where she held many officer positions in the Rural Letter Carrier Union and served on many committees. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Frances loved spending time with her family, reading, and crocheting. She is survived by her 4 children, Joseph A. Schaeffer and his wife Maureen of Glen Arm, Paul A. Schaeffer and his wife Terri of Uniontown, Mary T. Gladfelter of Shrewsbury and Elizabeth A. Leary and her husband Walter, II of Hedgesville, WV; 10 Grandchildren, Mike, Joanie, Matt, Jessica, Chad, Brandy, Kelsey, Katie, Walter, and Robert; 13 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Leo Keller and his wife Peggy of New Freedom; 2 sisters Joan and Agnes Keller, both of Freeland, MD. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son in law, Randy Gladfelter. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave, New Freedom, PA 17349. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing will be on Wed., September 5, 2018 from 6-8 p.m.at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. A vigil will be held at 7:45pm in the funeral home.
