Francis J. 'Fran' Kief

Francis J. ‘Fran’ Kief, 89, passed from this life on Sunday, September 25, 2022. His dear beloved wife, Dorothy T. (Karpowicz) Kief, passed on August 2, 2022. They had been married for over 65 years. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Fran was the son of the late Henry and Mary Margaret (Kremer) Kief. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from December 1952 to December 1956. Fran had worked at Bethlehem Steel for many years as a machinist repairman. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, wood working, the Orioles, and enjoyed a good game of Pinochle. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8891, New Freedom. Surviving are five children, Tim Kief and his wife, Darlene, Terri Oliver and her husband, Perry, Linda Hupfeld, Cheryl Ansel and her husband, Bob, and Tom Kief and his wife, Ronda; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a brother, Maurice Kief. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 3, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003.
