Franie "Elizabeth" (Scott) Hostler, 98, formerly of Pylesville, MD passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 in Jarrettsville, MD. Born and raised on her family farm on Scott Rd, in northern Harford Co.; she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Franie (Bell) Scott.
She was the loving wife of George "Wendell" Hostler of Jarrettsville, MD with whom she shared 68 years of marriage together.
Elizabeth grew up in Harford Co and graduated from the former Highland High School. She worked for Fawn Grove Sewing Factory for many years, Fawn Grove Canning House and later was the head of the cafeteria for Norrisville Elementary School. After retiring from the county schools she spent many years working at Jarrettsville Pharmacy.
She was an amazing cook, baker and cake decorator. Elizabeth was actively involved with helping with Fawn Grove Old Tyme Days and her quilting clubs.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory and honor her legacy, her husband Wendell, nephew Carroll Scott and his wife Shirley. She was considered family by many local families so her recipes, memories, and the story of her life will live on. She was preceded in death by her parents and their beloved daughter Elizabeth Rae Hostler.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday, April 17th at Fawn United Methodist Church; 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, PA. There will be a funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17th, at the church. Interment will follow at Centre Presbyterian Cemetery in New Park, PA.
