Frederick M. Smorada, 92, of Shrewsbury, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021. He was the loving husband of Shirley E. (Jones) Smorada and they celebrated 55 years of marriage on August 21.Born in Edenborn, Fayette County, Fred was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Fedorcheck) Smorada. He proudly served in Korea in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in London. A lithographer by trade, Fred worked for the International Paper Company in Baltimore, Md. which was the largest paper company in the world. It closed in March 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Kellie Leatherman and her husband Glenn Sr. of Edgewood, Md., and Pamela Kiefner and her husband, Raymond of Georgetown, De.; 3 grandchildren, Raymond Jr., Michael, and Paige; a granddaughter-in-law, Sandra Leatherman; and 2 great granddaughters, Aileen and Tamara. Fred was one of 12 children and he is the last of his family; two siblings died in the 1930’s during the flu epidemic. He was preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Glenn Leatherman.
