Frieda Neas

Frieda Neas, 106, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Friday, November 13, 2015, at the home of her son, Hans and Judy Neas, in Georgetown, Del. She was the wife of the late Walter Neas. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The service will begin at 12 noon Wednesday at the mortuary with the Rev. Grace Gravelle officiating. Burial will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Born January 8, 1909, in Scharfenort, Germany, Frieda was the daughter of the late August and Lina (Kluwe) Brieskorn. Frieda was a member at Christ Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury. She belonged to AARP and was a former member of the Rug Hooking Club of Jarrettsville, Md. Surviving are a son, Hans J. Neas and his wife, Judy of Georgetown, Del.; a granddaughter, Marianne Generelli and her husband, John; a great-grandson, Nicholas; a sister, Herta Nabe of Eckernfoede, Germany; and several nieces and nephews in both Germany and in Australia. Frieda was preceded in death by a son, Herbert W. Neas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 105 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361; or to one's own favorite charity.
