George Robert Solyan

George Robert Solyan, of Stewartstown, PA, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2022. Robert, most fondly known as Bob, was born on May 16, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late George Solyan and Ann Mattesi née Chernotowich. He was a devoted husband to Donna Solyan née Entrop for 56 years and a loving father and grandfather. While Bob had many passions, including reading, nature, collections and cooking, his greatest passion was his family; always taking care of those he loved. Bob’s career included military and civil service. He retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of service at which time he went on to work and retire from the Department of Defense where he served as an environmentalist. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Donna Solyan; his dear daughters, Jennifer Osborne, along with her husband Robert, and Amanda Maurer; adoring grandchildren, Emily and Madison Osborne and Ella and Reagan Maurer; he was preceded in death by his parents, George Solyan and Ann and Peter Mattesi.
