Geraldine "Gerry" M. Snyder nee Winterling was peacefully escorted by angels to Heaven on Nov 8, 2023, at the age of 89 at her home in Fayetteville, PA while surrounded by family. Gerry was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to be with her family and friends. Born in Baltimore, MD, May 29, 1934, she was pre-deceased by her husband, William F. Snyder with whom she would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary on Nov 23rd.
Gerry is survived by her daughter, Geralyn Snyder Fuller and son-in-law David J. Fuller, and her grandchildren, Matthew D. [Nancy Nie] Fuller and Sarah H. Fuller [Damiano] Cuppone. Gerry graduated from The Catholic High School, Baltimore, MD in 1952 and the Saint Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. As an R.N., she proudly worked 38 years in the NICU at St. Joseph Hospital, Towson, MD. After retiring from the hospital, she worked for several years as a nurse for A Touch of Country Daycare in Shrewsbury, PA. In her younger years, Gerry loved to bowl and roller skate. Later she took pleasure in travelling, crocheting and embroidery, bingo and coloring. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and never missed their school and sporting events, dance competitions, boy scout events and was the flower granny in Matthew's wedding.
Gerry was strong willed and had a positive outlook, having survived ovarian cancer since 1994. She was fond of butterflies, angels and fudge. She enjoyed being the center of attention, always ready to tell stories of her past, even if everyone had heard them many times before. Despite habitually cheating at cards, Gerry was a devout Catholic and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom, PA for many years.
The family will hold a private mass and burial.
