Glenn W. Bittner

October 18, 1953 — February 19, 2016

Glenn W. Bittner, 62, died suddenly on Friday, February 19, 2016. He was the devoted husband of Carol L. (Henderson) Bittner and they celebrated 39 years of marriage on September 11, 2015. Services are at the convenience of his family. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Born October 18, 1953, in Baltimore, Md., Glenn was the son of the late Glenn Harry and Margaret Mary (Revak) Bittner. Glenn earned his B.S. in Biology from Towson University and was a health inspector with the Baltimore County Health Department. A member of the Stewartstown Historical Society as well as the Friends of the Stewartstown Railroad, Glenn enjoyed flying model aircraft with the Propbuster R/C Club. He was an accomplished musician and played many instruments. Glenn enjoyed astronomy, motorcycle riding, sailing, woodworking, and Civil War history. His great-great-grandfather fought in the Civil war in the PA Infantry. Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife, are three siblings, Margaret Ann and her husband, Robert Schueler of Greenville, S.C., Caroline H., wife of Don Bellusci of Lineboro, Md., and John C Bittner and his wife, Stephanie of Hydes, Md.; a sister-in-law, Sharon Henderson of Stewartstown; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and his cat buddies, "Patch" and "Buddy". Glenn was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Marie Larkin. Contributions in Glenn's memory may be made to a charity of your choice .
