Gloria J. “Joy” ( Hulshart) Anderson, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2023, at Promedica Care North, in Shiloh Pa. Born in Norrisville, MD, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Bradford (Brad) Hulshart and Nora (Smeltzer) Anstine. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. “Jack” Anderson, Jr. with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage. Joy had three children, Thomas “Tom” B. Anderson (who preceded her in death) and his wife Ann, Nancy M. Anderson, and William “Bill” J. Anderson and wife Tammy; three grandsons, Thomas Anderson and wife Karie, Tyler Anderson and wife Charly, Dakota Baer and wife Karissa; granddaughter, Summer Skidmore and husband Nathan; four great granddaughters, Gemma, Parker, Lila, & Emma; two great grandsons, Tanner, & James; and a sister Nancy Waltimyer. In addition to her parents, husband, and son, she was preceded in death by a step sister, Louise Moore and step brother, Cecil Hulshart. Joy graduated from the very first graduating class of North Harford High School, class of 1951. She was employed by Aberdeen Proving Ground - Edgewood Arsenal, where she was a civil employee working as an accountant in the Comptroller’s office. She was a lifetime member of the Stewartstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7046, and a lifetime member of the Red Lion VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1446. Known to her grandchildren as “Mom Mom” and Great Grandchildren as “G.G.”, she loved every precious moment with them, however it was spent. She will always be remembered for her delicious Sunday dinners. She would always ask everyone sharing if they “have enough” and say to them “we have plenty”. She also enjoyed playing her piano and singing “when no one was listening”. In her early years she even made recordings on LP78 vinyl albums. Joy was extremely proud of her beloved sons, Tanner Mountain Band. She loved life. She loved God. She will be missed by those who knew her most and well.
