Goldie Irene Calp

Goldie I. (Rohrbaugh) Calp, 100 , of Country Meadows in Leader Heights, formally of New Freedom, PA, passed away on October 5, 2021. She was the wife of 39 years to the late Preston L. Calp. She was born in Codorus Township on May 11, 1921 to the late Ira and Daisy Rohrbaugh. Goldie worked for the American Insulator in New Freedom and also worked for AMP Corporation in Glen Rock as a Mold Polisher. She retired from AMP in 1986. Goldie was a member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church of Glen Rock, PA. She enjoyed working with the crab cake dinners and seeing all the people that came to enjoy those dinners. She liked baking raisin pies as one of the desserts.She was a member of Rose Fire Company and the Senior Center of New Freedom.She enjoyed helping serve lunch and making fried apples. In addition to her volunteer work, she enjoyed painting classes and got to be a very good painter. She also loved taking bus trips. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Cleary of Reisterstown, MD and Loretta Thomas of Shrewsbury, PA, Step-daughter, Ruth Cassell of Hanover, PA, and step-sons, Robert L. Calp of Manchester, MD and Paul Larry Calp of Florida; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.Goldie was pre-deceased by her step-son, Donald L. Calp, and 5 brothers, and 8 sisters. A viewing will be held at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, PA 17349,on Monday October 11, 2021 from 1:00 pm -3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a funeral service on Tuesday October, 12th beginning at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home.
