Grace Ruth Harris

Grace Ruth (Hisley) Harris, 95, of New Freedom, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Urbanski) Hisley. Grace was the beloved wife of Robert F. Harris, Sr. for 62 years until he passed in 2009.

Grace was a homemaker and opened her home to Bible studies and hospitalities. She had an immense love for her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She was the last of 11 children.

Grace is survived by her 2 children, Diane Harris and Robert F. Harris, Jr. (Sharon); 3 grandchildren, Jason Harris (Mirna), Beth Makary (Mark), and Jonathan Harris; 3 great grandchildren, Savannah, James, and Charlotte. Grace was preceded in death by her 10 siblings, Wilbur, Irene, John, Margaret, Walter, Elizabeth, Paul, Edward, David, and Timothy; along with her husband and parents.

A public viewing will be held Monday, September 18 from 6-8pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. 2nd St, New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, September 19 beginning at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery.
