Hazel M. Bisker, formerly of New Park, passed away in Hospice care at SpiriTrust Lutheran Sprenkle Drive, on October 29, 2024 of Alzheimers. Born December 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred (Bose) Ring. She is predeceased by her daughter, Pam; son, Brian; and husband, Richard in 1980, 1981, and 1982 respectively.
Hazel was a member of the former Prospect United Methodist Church, Gatchelville (now Prospect Church), the Prospect United Women of Faith, the Red Hatters, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Stewartstown American Legion. She was a Curves enthusiast and an active member of the Stewartstown Senior Center after retiring in 1998 from York Hospital, where for 26 years she transported patients to the operating room. Prior, she worked in Fawn Grove and Stewartstown sewing factories. Hazel also enjoyed weekly early morning womens group gatherings at Rutter’s, where she drank her coffee piping hot.
Hazel opened her home to anyone in the family that needed help or a place to stay. She was loved by many people and treated others as part of her family. She valued traveling far and wide with her dear friend Wilma.
Surviving are three children: Theresa Hay (Charles) CT; Cynthia Swift (Steven) York; Richard Bisker Jr. (Karen) New Park. Seven grandchildren: Mariah (Joe) & Mistral (Felix) Hay; Derek & Aaron (Jes) Swift; Adam (Jackie), Callie (Nathan), & Sawyer (Marion) Bisker. Seven great grandchildren: Ava, Camden, Felicity, Willow, Devina, Elliana, and Wiley. Two brothers: William Ring (Linda); Terry Ring (Candy).
In addition to her parents, husband, and children, she was preceded in death by brother Joseph Ring, five sisters Elsie & Nancy Ring, Barbara Little, Janice Wagner, and Gladys Tharp; Son-in-law Ike Hay; companion Morris Miller; dear friends, Wilma Markel and Shirley Little.
Hazel’s two mottos to live by were, “Life is for the living.” and “Never give up on your children.”
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to Prospect Cemetery Association, 8 Orchard Road, New Park, PA 17352. The family would like to thank everyone at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Sprenkle Drive and Zimmerman Place, where she received excellent care, compassion, and kindness and where her dignity was maintained to the end.
Family and friends are invited for a public visitation at 1pm on November 4, 2024. A funeral service will begin at 2 pm, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA. Interment of ashes will be private by the family.
