Helen Bond Hodgson, 96, of Cockeysville, Maryland passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Broadmead Retirement Community. Born in Freeland, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Catherine R. (nee Brown) Bond.Helen graduated from Sparks High School where she was a member of a champion basketball team.She had an eye for all things beautiful and ran a small antiques business for years in Baltimore and later in Shrewsbury.Helen was very active within the Broadmead community where she resided for the past sixteen years. She loved spending time with her family and friends and her ready wit and bright smile will be deeply missed. Helen is survived by a son, Bryan H. Hodgson of Bethlehem, PA and husband of Diana; three grandchildren Zachary Taylor Wilkinson, RC Atlee-Hodgson and Caroline Caley Gordillo; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Wilkinson, and nine siblings: Mary Robina Jarvis, Hester (Sally) Hartman, Edward Benson Bond, Joshua Maurice (Marty) Bond, Richard Taylor Bond, John Paul (Jack) Bond, Charlotte Louise Holler, Marcella (Marcy) Earnshaw and Harriet Bond. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10AM at Historic Jessop’s Church, 14021 York Road, Sparks, MD 21152 with Rev. Dennis Schulze and Fr. Wiley Hawks officiating. Inurnment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, non-deductible contributions to the Broadmead employee appreciation fund may be made by mailing a check marked “Employee Appreciation Fund” payable to the Broadmead Residents Association, 13801 York Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030.
