On Sunday, April 15, 2018, Helen A. (Cox) Stiffler, 94, passed away at ManorCare-Dallastown.She was married for 65 years to the late I. Kenneth Stiffler, who passed away March 18, 2007.Helen made her home with her son and daughter-in-law Tonie Stiffler for the last ten years. She was born in Hopewell Township on September 5, 1923 to the late Ralph and Elva (Heaps) Cox.She graduated from Codorus Township High School in 1941, then worked for Black and Decker Mfg. Co. in Towson and Hampstead, MD for 33 years, retiring in 1983.Helen and Ken enjoyed traveling.Some of their travels took them to Europe, Canada, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and most of the other 48 states.They also spent a lot of time at Taylors Island, MD crabbing and fishing with their grandkids and friends from Black and Decker. Nothing was more important to Ken and Helen than their family, which include two sons, William K. Stiffler and his wife Tanya of New Freedom and Ronald E. Stiffler and his wife Tina of Glen Rock; one grandson, Jon K. Stiffler and his wife Terri of Selbyville, DE; one granddaughter, Jana Jones and her husband Robert of York; one step-grandson, Eric McCullough of New Freedom, four great-grandsons, Josh Stiffler and his wife Sarah, Cody Stiffler, Robbie Jones and Riley Jones; one step-great-granddaughter, Emi McCullough; one step-great-grandson, Jameson McCullough; one great-great-granddaughter, Andie Lee Stiffler; and one sister, Arlene Hufnagle of Gettysburg.She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Helen was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ralph, Willard, Curvin and Bobby Cox; and three sisters, Gladys Miller, Hilda Miller and Thelma Walker. Public viewing will be from 5pm until a funeral service begins at 7pm on Thursday, April 19 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom.Pastor Edward J. Ross, III will officiate.After cremation, private burial in Bethlehem Steltz Cemetery in Glen Rock will take place at the convenience of the family.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to a charity of your choice.
