Herbert P. Ford, III, 78, of Saxton, PA formerly of Parkton, MD passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Westmoreland Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Vivian R. (Hammond) Ford who passed away in 2016. Born in White Hall, Maryland he was a son of the late Herbert Price Ford, Jr. and Margie Iona (Perry) Ford. Herb was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with Hereford Fire Company and enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, hunting, motorcycle racing and duck hunting. He also enjoyed cooking and making his famous stuffing and deviled eggs and loved listening to Bluegrass music and taking care of his dogs. He is survived by five children Deborah Gardner, Dean Gardner and wife Elaine, Terrie wife of David Detomas, Tammy wife of Charles Brandt and Margie wife of Michael Fortune; 12 grandchildren Rachel, David, Sarah, Evan, Amber, Dalton, Kailyn, Anna, Lauren, Kyle, Kendall, and Luke; and 2 great-grandchildren Levi and Aniyah. Herb is also survived by 3 siblings and was preceded in death by two grandchildren Rebecca and Lindsay and 4 siblings. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11AM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom with Pastor Jeffrey A. Slemp, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Shrewsbury. A viewing will be held from 10AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
