Herbert C. Grove

Herbert ‘Herb’ C. Grove, 72, of Felton, passed from this life with his family by his side on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was the loving husband of Carol Diane (Matthews) Grove and they were married on October 28, 1972. Born in Felton, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Betty D. (Miller) Grove.

Herb was a quality control engineer for BAE Systems of York for many years. He was a thirty-two year member of the Winterstown Borough Council holding the current position of Council President. He served in the 9th Engineer Battalion of the United States Army from August 1972 - July 1974 as a combat engineer.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Melissa Lehr and her husband, Donald of Dover, PA, and Monica Herbst and her husband, Darrin of Westminster, MD; two grandchildren, Emily Hoover and Olivia Stambaugh; a great grandson, Braylon Ross; a brother, Terry L. Grove and his wife, Carol of Dover, DE, and Delores Louise White and her husband, Larry of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn J. Young.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a public viewing from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 18 at the Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. There will be a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19 at the church. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the Winterstown U.B.
