On Friday, April 1, 2016, Irma J. Sprouse-Louey, 87, died at the Haven at Springwood in York. A public viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8 at St. Paul's (Hametown) Lutheran Church, 11894 Susquehanna Trail South, Glen Rock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Katie Brantner will officiate. Irma was born on January 11, 1929, in Charlottesville, Va. to the late Herman A. Sprouse and the late E. Irma (Martin) Sprouse-Reckline. She was a member of St. Paul's (Hametown) Lutheran Church and also the Highland Chapter #33 Order of Eastern Star in Dundalk, Md. In her younger days, she and her husband were avid square dancers. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Robert K. Louey; and her siblings, James M. Sprouse, Herman A. Sprouse, Jr. and Mary Sprouse-Hoffman.
