Ivan F. Hess

On Thursday, April 14, 2016, Ivan F. Hess, 92, of York died at his residence. He was the husband of Phyllis (Hildebrand) Hess for 60 years. Ivan was born on June 19, 1923 to the late Homer H. and Sarah E. (Wright) Hess. Interment is private. Ivan was a mechanic for Bartenslager Chevrolet in Rinely and a truck driver for Summers Canning Factory in New Freedom before retiring from Caterpillar after 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife; and several nieces, nephews and family members. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to the St. Paul United Church of Christ, 161 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361.
