Rev. Jack Clyde Chapman, Sr., 81, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017. He was the loving husband of Marlene Mae (McGurer) Chapman, whom he married at the Chapman family home on June 8, 1956. There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Glenview Alliance Church, 10037 Susquehanna Trail South, Glen Rock, PA 17327, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens on Monday and is private. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, is assisting the family. Born on March 30, 1935, in Painesville, OH, Jack was a son of the late Clyde M. and Esther J. (Canter) Chapman and stepson of the late Mabel (Freeman) Flynn Chapman. After graduating from Toccoa Falls Bible College in 1958, Jack served as a pastor of four churches in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Windham Bible Church in Windham, OH, Newark Alliance Church in Newark, OH, Fellowship Alliance Church in Middle River, Md., and Pine Glen Alliance Church in Lewistown. He retired in 2000 after 42 years of ministry. He has been a member of the Glenview Alliance Church since 2003. He loved spending time with his family, singing hymns of the faith, listening to the Bible, and talking about God to anyone who would listen. Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Charlotte Dively of Baltimore, Md., Lynette Norris and her husband, Jeff, of Punxsutawney, Rochelle Kauffman of Lewistown, and Jack Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Kristi, of Red Lion; grandchildren, Christy Talmadge, Tammie Costello, Jennifer Arisman, William Norris, Jackie Kauffman, Robert Kauffman, Megan Chapman, and Heidi Chapman; great-grandchildren, Luke, Haley and Ashton Talmadge; Makayla, Carly and Dominic Talmadge; Annabella, Phillip and Eden Norris; a half-brother Don Flynn; and siblings, Irene Wilmot, Wanda Gear, and Gloria Fuerst.
