Jacqueline Gail Mcfarland (Grothe)

Jacqueline Gail McFarland (Grothe), 57, formerly of Maryland Line and Millsboro, DE, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

Born in York, PA she was the daughter of Dorothy I. (Reider) Grothe of Freeland, MD and the late Robert “Bob” E. Grothe, Sr.

She graduated from Hereford High School, Class of 1984.  Jacqueline worked as a cleaning specialist in Ocean City, MD.  She liked reading, gardening, going to the beach and traveling. She also enjoyed watching football and Nascar. She looked forward to spending time with her grand-babies and loved being with her family.

In addition to her mother, Dorothy, she is survived by her three children Krysta Nicole (Hopwood) Johnson and her husband Zachariah Johnson, Sr., Jessica Lynn Hopwood, and Steven Michael Hopwood; three grandchildren Zachariah Johnson, Jr., Kayden R. Johnson and Evelyn Bozman; and a brother Robert E. Grothe, Jr.

There will be a public viewing on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349. A Service will be on Saturday  at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
