James M. Hesse

James M. Hesse, 70, of Stewartstown passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his residence. Born in Fullerton, MD he was a son of the late Herman G. and Dorothy V. (Barrett) Hesse. James was a laborer with American Insulator, Columbia Forest, and Ceilings & Jones before retiring. He later worked at the True Value Hardware in Shrewsbury and the maintenance department of the Shrewsbury Wal-Mart. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, bow hunting and black powder hunting. In his earlier years he enjoyed attending car shows with his brother George and drag racing. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. James is survived by a son Michael G. Hesse and companion Melanie Reed of Stewartstown; step-daughter Carla Albright of Glen Rock; grandchildren Arson and Ransom Hesse and Sadie Albright, Kage and Keira Colditz; one brother George E. Hesse and companion Diane Chapman of New Freedom and one sister Mary Ward of York. He was preceded in death by his step-father Paul Wildasin and a step-brother Louis Wildasin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 7PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care Inc, 24 N. Second St. New Freedom. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
