James “Bruce” Marsteller, 84, of Stewartstown, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at home. He was the husband of Patricia Ann (Runkle) Marsteller to whom he was married 61 years. Born in New Park, he was a son of the late William A. and Nellie T. (Cross) Marsteller. Bruce, as he was known by all, was a lifelong farmer who loved woodworking, carpentry and was a hardworking provider for his family. He was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and deacon, Friendship Lodge #663, Tall Cedars and the Harrisburg Consistory. Bruce served on the South Eastern School District Board of Directors for several years and was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid sports fan. Bruce was a selfless individual who always put others needs before his own and wanted to help anyone in need. He enjoyed word searches and had a great sense of humor and always had a positive attitude throughout his life. In addition to his wife, Patricia he is survived by two children, Donald Bruce Marsteller and wife Lisa and Lori Ann Clements; five grandchildren, Donald James Marsteller and wife Earlena, Rhoda Ashley, wife of Brody Snyder, Michael Stanley Marsteller and wife Kristen, Sarah Ann Clements and Anna Nicole Clements; eight great-grandchildren, Lovena, Bruce James, Lisa Faye, Donald James Marsteller, Jr., Zoe Rose Snyder, Priscilla Rose, Arabelle Rose and Michael Stanley Marsteller, II. Bruce was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, Mervyn and Wilbur Marsteller and one sister, Margaret Workman. Honoring Bruce’s wishes there will be no services. Bruce would say, “You can be a little sad but be happy for me for I have lived in the best of times.” He will be greatly missed by his family and all who have known him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 235 St. Charles Way, Suite 250, York, PA 17402; Friendship Lodge #663, 83 S.
