James Ray Topper, 73, of New Freedom, PA (formerly of Glen Burnie, MD) passed away on September 22 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Linda (Theal) Topper, to whom he was married for 51 years. He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Raymond M. and Helena (Redding) Topper. Ray served as a Chief Custodian for the Anne Arundel County School System for 22 years. He was an active member of Living Hope Church and his hobbies included photography, building model cars, computers and technology, reading, and listening to a variety of music. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by three daughters: Amy Watkins (Shawn), Sarah Feeser (Tim), and Emily Gilmore (Steve); four grandchildren: Megan, Michael, and Allison Watkins, and Natalie Feeser. He is also survived by his sister, Hallie Riedel (John). A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27 at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 315 N.
