Janet L. Barber

Janet L. "Jan" (Rehman) Barber, 72, of Shrewsbury passed away on Saturday Feb. 22, 2020. She was the loving wife of Duane E. Barber with whom she celebrated over 49 years of marriage. In addition to her husband Duane, Jan is survived by: Kristin L. Raynor (daughter) and her husband, Johnny, and Kelly L. Barber (daughter) and her wife, Rachael; and, Nick Raynor (grandson). Jan is preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Mary (D’Angelo) Rehman. Jan was born on Oct. 14, 1947 in Harrisburg, PA. She attended Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg and, later, Point Park College in Pittsburgh, where she became a registered nurse. She retired in 2009 after dedicating more than 25 years to her patients in the maternity unit at York Hospital. Jan enjoyed creating floral arrangements, reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She was known for her quick wit, strong work ethic and infectious smile. Services for Jan are private and at the convenience of the family.
