Janet A. Cross

Janet A. Cross, 88, of Stewartstown, PA, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024. Born in Stewartstown, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Gladys (McCleary) Amberman. She was the loving wife of 53 years to the late J. Cecil Cross who passed in 2008.

Janet loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to the beach. She worked as a receptionist for the Orsburn Funeral Home in Stewartstown and stayed when it became Hartenstein Funeral Home. Janet also sold Avon for many years.

Janet is remembered by her two children, Martha Miller (Kevin), and Tina Sadler (Ron); four grandchildren, Dana Dorn (Eric), Corey Miller (Samantha), Chad Sadler, and Brad Sadler (Kara); and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a public visitation on Wednesday, October 2 from 9-11 AM at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A memorial service will start at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Stewartstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eureka Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 457, Stewartstown, PA or H.O.P.E, PO Box 279, Stewartstown, PA.
