Janet Burns Miller

Janet Burns Miller, 92, passed away at home on Friday, April 25, 2025. Born in White Hall, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Mays and Helen E. (Almony) Burns.

Janet enjoyed spending time with her family on the farm. She looked forward to attending Wiseburg United Methodist Church on Sunday’s. She was a graduate of Sparks High School, class of 1952. In her younger years, she enjoyed iceskating and playing basketball. She also liked to go dancing with her husband.

Janet is survived by her two children, James “Jim” Miller, and Robert Miller (Amy C.); 2 grandchildren, William Miller, and Joseph Miller, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Douglas Miller, brother William Burns, and twin sister Eileen Larrick.

There will be a public viewing at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, MD.
