Janet Shirley Torbert

On Monday, August 27, 2018, Janet S. Torbert, 82, passed away at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation in York.She was the loving wife of Richard A. Torbert, Sr. for 42 years.Janet was born on October 6, 1935 to the late Joseph J. and Eleanor C. (Sweitzer) Engle.She is survived by her three children, Richard A. “Rick” Torbert, Jr. and wife Whitney, Debora Orwig and Kathy Vaught; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three siblings, Raye and John Engle, and Wanda Lloyd.Preceding her in death are four siblings, Marlene Bales, infant brother Dale Engle, George Robert Engle and Donald Engle. Public viewing will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5pm until a funeral service begins at 7pm at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom.Interment is private.
