Jared Russell Gouge, 14, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Jared was born at home in March of 2002. He came into the world quick, fast and in a hurry and never slowed down since that day. Jared was a freshman at Kennard Dale High School where his favorite subjects were lunch and gym. He was known to be the life of the party and made people happy with his contagious smile, freckled face, and quirky sense of humor. Jared had the best dimples ever and often used them to wiggle his way out of trouble. He enjoyed playing the guitar, beating his family members at basketball and being the tallest person in the house. In addition, Jared was an avid player of video games including strategy and sports themed games. Jared was a lifelong Steelers fan with a great passion for music, history and statistics. His knowledge of World War II, football and basketball was endless and he enjoyed a good debate about the greatest players in sports history. Jared's favorite bands included AC/DC, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Aerosmith and Linkin Park. Jared never met an animal he didn't like (even worms and chickens) and particularly loved his pets, Samson, Aries, JoJo, Harley and Ginger. He also enjoyed taking trips to visit family in Tennessee with his father and often reminisced about the time he spent on Fort Bragg. In the future, Jared aspired to become a Federal Marshal so that he could make big bucks, drive cool cars, and impress all the ladies. Jared is survived by his loving parents, Melissa Hiller and Michael Kisamore and Clifford and Linda Gouge. Also grieving for Jared are his siblings, Mike Gouge, Christina Moore, Steven Kisamore and Abigail Kisamore; his grandparents, Roy and Norma Hiller; and his great-grandfather, Roy Hiller II. Jared was a much beloved uncle, nephew, cousin, student and friend to many others. Jared also leaves behind a trail of dirty socks, numerous contact lens containers, guitar picks, and some dishes which never made it to the dishwasher. Public viewings will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until a funeral service begins at 7 p.m. at JJ Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. Pastor Frank Schimming will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Jared R. Gouge Memorial Fund on youcaring.com (https://www.youcaring.com/JaredRGougeMemorialFund).
