The most beautiful person and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Jeanne Louise Luckenbaugh, 87, passed to Heaven on 7/21/21.Fondly went by Louise, she joined her belated husband Gene of 66 years at Heaven’s gates. He recently went to Heaven first at the end of May. Born in Front Royal, VA as one of six children, Louise was the daughter of the late Norbert Caillouet and Maria (Carter) Caillouet. Growing up in Marcum, VA, on the family farm, Louise’s family moved to Parkton, MD, during the school years. Louise graduated from Sparks High School, Sparks, MD. She went on to assist the chemist at Hungerford Canning Company in New Freedom, PA. After marrying the love of her life, Louise enjoyed being an accomplished homemaker and taking care of her family as well as helping people in need through the years. Always known for her loving and kind spirit, Louise loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her beloved family of three children, Gail (Mark) Lawler of Kennett Square, PA; Joel Luckenbaugh of York, PA; and Eric (Mary) Luckenbaugh of Durham, NC; two adored grandsons, Adam and Daniel Luckenbaugh of Grand Rapids, MI; former daughter-in-law, Lisa Luckenbaugh of Grand Rapids, MI; and god daughter, Liz Hale of Baltimore, MD. Louise is further survived by her sisters, Jean Hammond and Lucy Maseth of Westminister, MD, and Mary Patterson of Gwynn Oak, MD; sister-in-law, Betty Ness of Dover, PA; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; daughter, Judy Lynn Luckenbaugh; brother, Magil Caillouet and sister, Maria Caillouet. There will be a public visitation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, PA immediately following the service.
