Jennifer Lynn Saunders

d. November 11, 2022

Jennifer “Jenny” Lynn Saunders passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 11, 2022. She was born at Reynolds Army Hospital, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, on March 29, 1977 to Steven and Diane (Strawderman) Webster.

From her childhood travels overseas, to the most recent weekend get-away, Jenny embraced every adventure that came her way with equal enthusiasm and had more life experiences in her short time on this earth than many people have in an entire lifetime. But there was nothing that brought her soul more peace and joy than spending the holidays with her family, or sharing quiet times at home with her husband Dan.

To know Jenny was to know love at its purest level, and if she loved you, you knew it. Her love of animals, great and small was endless and there is no doubt the indoor and outdoor critters she cared for on a daily basis are going to miss her. Jenny was an exceptional artist, a natural gardener, and a gifted florist. And her passion for flowers allowed her an opportunity to go back to Hawaii to revisit one of her childhood homes, while taking advantage of advanced level courses in tropical floral design, because she loved them so much.

After moving to rural Pennsylvania in 2008 to be closer to her family, Jenny truly began to thrive and live her best life. It wasn’t too long after getting all settled in, that she met the soulmate she had been searching for, and together they forged a path for their future, marrying at a beautiful destination wedding in Puerto Rico, in 2014. It was during this most joyful time in her life, that her love of gardening began to expand as well, and she began cultivating organic gardens, and learning how to can her own fruits and vegetables. There is not a plant, herb, or flower that Jenny did not have knowledge of and which she didn’t freely and generously share that knowledge with others. Jenny resonated happiness, had a great sense of humor, infectious laughter, and always saw the silver lining behind every cloud.

Jenny leaves behind her soulmate and love of her life, her loving and compassionate husband of 8 years, Daniel A. Saunders, her doting parents, who loved her unconditionally, Steven and Diane Webster of Alexandria VA, her adoring sisters Kimberly Webster Steel and her husband James, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Lindsay Webster Pasricha and her husband Ravjot, of Alexandria, VA, along with her loving and caring in-laws, Ellen Ward and her husband Ed Katz, and John Saunders and his wife Linda.

Jenny also leaves behind four super special nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly and who she loved with all her heart, Jaiden Steel and Parker Steel, of Ft. Lauderdale FL, and Luvleen Pasricha and Kabir Pasricha, of Alexandria, VA. In addition she leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends from all walks of life, and from everywhere she has ever been. And last but certainly never least, her two constant companions Ricci and Brownie.

Jenny is predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, Hoy and Ruth Strawderman, and Cecil and Celia Webster, and an aunt who she just adored, Connie Webster Yohe.

Jenny was a bright and shining light to those she shared her life with, and a private Celebration of Life will be held in her honor, on a date that is yet to be determined. We will carry her memory forward with gratitude for our time spent together.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jenny’s memory to Animal Rescue Inc., 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, or to an animal sanctuary of your choosing.
