Jerry T. Blackwell

Jerry T. Blackwell, Sr., 78, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Born in Staunton, VA, he was the son of the late Calvin Brown and Lavalette (Price) Blackwell. He was the husband of Sharon R. (Vlachos) Blackwell of Shrewsbury, sharing 60 years of marriage together. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for General Motors for 31 years until he retired. He loved his family and enjoyed playing Santa for the kids. He like his Tv, guns and hunting in his younger years. In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived by three children Jerry T. Blackwell, Jr., Stephen C. Blackwell Sr. and his wife Lisa K., and Theresa R. Cavey and her husband Robert I.; six grandchildren Stephen C. Blackwell Jr., Thomas A. Blackwell, Jarrett T. Blackwell, Ashley M. Cavey, Brandon M. Cavey and Robert J. Cavey and two great grandchildren Amara Blackwell and Gracie E. Blackwell and siblings Bonnie Sheffield, Sylvia, Caroline, Danny Blackwell and Mario Marino, Jr. He was preceded in death by step father Mario Marino, Sr. (Pop) and his siblings Irvin Brown Blackwell, Robert Bruce Blackwell, Willis A. Blackwell. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
