Joan Elizabeth Hildebrand

Joan Elizabeth Hildebrand, 84, passed from this life on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Delle R. Hildebrand who passed in 2019. Born in York, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Dorothy M. (Gohn) Knaub. In addition to being a stay-at-home mother, Joan had worked as a secretary for H.L. Green Warehouse, she worked on the family farm driving tractor, worked at the Lutheran Home, volunteered in the kitchen at the North Hopewell-Winterstown Volunteer Fire Company, and served on the Election Board since 1980. Joan enjoyed camping and traveling to CA and out west to the National Parks; she also enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Surviving are three children, Lowell D. Hildebrand and his wife, Tami, Scott Hildebrand, and Sheila Bupp and husband, Brian; six grandchildren, Evan (Ema) and Levi (Gina) Bupp, Joshua (Sammy) and Jacob (Dena) Hildebrand, Katy (Corey) Rexroth and Cody (Jess) Hildebrand; and five great grandchildren, Abigail Rexroth, Clayton Rexroth, Cecilia Bupp, Nina Hildebrand, and Reagan Bupp. She was preceded in death by one sister, Judith Flinchbaugh, and two brothers, Ronald and Philip Knaub.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363 with a memorial service honoring Joan’s life beginning at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Stewartstown (Rinely), immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to: Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N.
