JoAnn Pappas, 82, of Stewartstown passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Henry McDougall, Sr. and William Pappas. Born in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late William Presser, Sr. and Lucille (Brokus) Presser. JoAnn was a real estate broker for many years until her retirement when she then devoted her herself to her grandchildren. She was a carpool ‘MomMom’ from preschool though the many years at York Catholic. She transported her grandchildren to numerous dance and sporting events and supported her grandchildren through all of their childhood endeavors. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom, PA. She is survived by her six children Cynthia Friesner (and John), Henry McDougall, Jr. (and Terry), Jeannine Beran (and Kenneth), Allison Murter (and Stephen), William McDougall and Theresa Pappas (and Michael). JoAnn was preceded in death by son Russell Pappas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Jeannine Friesner, Kelly (Friesner) Houston, Elizabeth Murter, Kathryn (Beran) Vincent, Samuel Martone, Christopher Murter, Rachel Beran, Benjamin Murter, Nicholas Pappas, Alexander Murter and Kelsey Murter and 5 great grandchildren; Devyn Friesner, Jordan Houston, Olivia Houston, Matthew Murter and Morgan Murter. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11AM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave. New Freedom with Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will be held privately.
