Joanna Hoover

Joanna Hoover, 74 of Shrewsbury, died September 1st, 2018 at home surrounded by her loved ones.She was the wife of John Hoover for 57 years. Joann was the daughter of the late Betty McVaugh.She was a long time Medical Assistant and Office Manager in the area.Joann loved giving back to the community, she was a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader, Welcome Wagon representative and an avid contributor to numerous organizations.John and Joann were longtime members of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Shrewsbury. Joann particularly enjoyed volunteering at the annual Christmas Bazaar.Joann loved baking, cooking, reading, spending time at the cabin, traveling, spending time with friends and family and relaxing on her patio surrounded by the beautiful flowers and fish pond her husband created for her.Joann was also very fond of attending plays with her husband especially at the Playhouse at McConnellstown, an all-volunteer theatre. In addition to her husband, Joann is survived by a son John and his wife Patti, a daughter Joy Schnetzka and her husband Curt; three grandchildren, Debra Fick, Jessy Hoover and Jacob Hoover; and her brother Joseph McVaugh (Lappy) and his wife Linda. Joann never liked being the center of attention, and per her wishes there will be no services.
