John P. De Beaumont

John P. de Beaumont, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in New Freedom, PA, surrounded by the comfort of his family on March 25, 2021. John was born in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late John Joseph and Sally Jane (Geoghegan) de Beaumont. He was a loving husband to Joan D. de Beaumont with whom he shared nearly 65 years of marriage. John graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute; Class of 1954. John worked for the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company; retiring after 37 years of service as a Central Office Manager. John served his country from 1955-1963 in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, Post 7012 in New Freedom, where he formed a true network of friends. He also loved golfing and gathering with friends atBon Air Country Club’s 19th hole. John enjoyed nature in many forms such as bird watching or feeding the fish in his self-crafted backyard pond. He also spent countless hours creating Christmas train gardens for family to enjoy. However, painting beautiful landscapes was his favorite hobby. While waiting for his paint to dry, his jokes and silly riddles kept his family and friends entertained. In addition to his wife Joan, John will be remembered by his five children: Cindy L. Stitz and husband Jack, Linda J. Winters and husband Rich, John M. de Beaumont and wife Ann, Jacqueline “Jackie” M. Burkhardt and husband Joe, and James S. de Beaumont and wife Sharon; 11 grandchildren: Amy, Michelle, David, Josh, John, Paul, Ayla, Ian, Cole, Leah, and Henry; two great grandchildren: Farrah and Cora and two great grandchildren on the way; a sister Jacqueline “Jacky” Rosemary. He was preceded in death by his sister Sally “Joan” Anderson. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
