John Donald Duncan

On Thursday, November 21, 2019, John Donald Duncan, 62, passed away at home in Stewartstown.He was the beloved husband of Gloria J. (Cole) Duncan.John was born on August 13, 1957 in Allegany, MD to Margaret E. (Jones) and the late John Donald Duncan, Sr.He proudly served his country in the US Marines, then the Army National Guard.In his younger years, John was a bull rider and participated in the rodeo scene.He was a member of Stewartstown Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and a Sunday school director.In his spare time, he enjoyed taking care of animals, and he had rescued many dogs; being involved in church activities; and spending time with his entire family. John is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Robert Hinton and wife Jacqueline, Candie Barton and husband Earnest, Traci Moser, Justin Mohr and wife Amber, Shawn Duncan and fiancé Rachel Boucher, and Michael McKeon and wife Erin; grandchildren, Heather Hinton, Cholie Hefner, Robbie Hinton, Seanna Henry, Gage Henry, Blaine Smith, Jaxson Hinton, Cole LePore, Clay LePore, Chloe, LePore, Drew Barton, Cameron Haney, Jaedyn McKeon, Mikey McKeon, Reese Moser, Shawn Duncan, Jordan Duncan, Arielle Duncan, Bennett Mohr, Linden Mohr, Chelsea Askew Teller, Naomi Askew, Leah Boucher, Jacob Boucher and Matthew Boucher; great-grandchildren, Abbi Grace Hinson, and Kai Teller; sisters, Cindy Scarola and Sue Childress; and nieces, Heather Diah, Nicole Childress and Ami Childress and their children, Annika, Zoey, Jayden, Caleigh, and Austin. Public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 7pm to 9pm at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, at 9:30am.Interment will follow in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.Pastor Tim Parker will officiate.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to Veterans Aganst Myeloma, 12650 Riverside Dr., Ste. 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607.
