John W. Hisley

John Walter Hisley, 73, of Fawn Grove, PA passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. He was the loving husband of Sharon E. (Preis) Hisley. Born in Baltimore Maryland, he was a son to the late Paul T. and Mary Dolores (Pryzbylski) Hisley.

He loved to do some woodwork projects in his workshop behind he house. John's happy place was Lakeland, Florida where he spent some memorable times with his son and daughter in law and grandchildren. John worked for Peter and John Ministries helping them with accounting and eventually retired from working as a home improvement worker. After John retired, he enjoyed helping the local Amish by driving them around to their destinations.

John is remembered by his wife Sharon; son, Eric Hisley and his wife Dr. Daynet; grandchildren, Camilla and Marcus Hisley; sister, Christine Urlahs and her husband Herbert; and niece and nephew Erin and Herbert Urlahs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul D. Hisley.

A public viewing will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in the Fawn Grove Cemetery.
